I came across this quote by Waker Evans today and thought I should share.
“the photographer must define his subject with an educated awareness of what it is and what it means; he must describe it with such simplicity and sureness that the result seems an unchallengeable fact, not merely the record of a photographer's opinion; yet the picture itself should possess a taut athletic grace, an inherent structure, that gives it a life in metaphor.”
once again, in Brooklyn, I wanted to set up a room with porn and have this somewhat creepy/pervert type sitting amongst that mass. The only thing was we had the buy the porn from my local bodega, which was far to nerve racking for me. So instead I sent my friend to buy said pornography for me, while hid around the corner like 15 year old kid waiting for her sister to buy me booze. I am so mature.
this is back in 2006 in Brooklyn, trying to figure out what to take pictures. This picture lead to an idea that I thought would be funny about sex and food. It resulted in some very embarrassing photos that will most likely never see the light of day.
So I guess a few years back now, when I was working on my Coupling series, we were playing around after the shoot and well this the result. I came across these last night and thought I should definetly share them.
So I decided to start up a little photo blog to share my pictures, updates, and just fun stuff I’m working on that will probably never make it on to my site. I fully admit my copycat ways, as a few of my MFA friends have blogs as well, which you should check. I will try to have a new image up everyday if I can.
I'm currently doing my MFA at Concordia University. I make art which mostly consists of Photography. this is a place for me to show the 'extras'.
